Light Assessment

The measurement of light within the photosynthetically active range (PAR) of 400-700nm is necessary for the calculation of photosynthetic efficiency of chlorophyll-containing organisms. The measurements are cosine corrected and typically expressed as Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density (PPFD).

Aquation offers a range of products for your investigations of light in marine, freshwater or terrestrial environments.

light assessment feature

Spherical PAR sensors

The Spherical PAR sensors can measure irradiance as PAR from all directions, in particular where light is highly scattered and diffuse (e.g. dense cell cultures).

Submersible PAR datalogger

Aquation’s Submersible PAR datalogger is designed to operate LiCor PAR sensors or other light sensors.

Optoleaf (Tasei)

Optoleaf

Tasei’s Optoleaf (photosensitive film) is an ideal way to take multipoint measurements of cumulative light in the field, both terrestrially and underwater.  Aquation is the distributor for this product in Australia.
