Aquation designs and manufactures a range of environment monitoring systems for use in marine, freshwater and terrestrial applications, with a focus on plant health.
Chlorophyll fluorescence provides unique insights into how efficiently a plant uses sunlight. Aquation has developed a range of fluorometers designed to measure this efficiency, both on land and underwater. In addition to the efficiency measurement (ΦII, Fv/Fm) our fluorometers provide in situ experimental light treatments that provide further insight (e.g. rapid light curves, custom treatments). More detailed examination of plant health is possible with the Shutter Fluorometer, where automatic dark-acclimation of a leaf provides measures of plant photodamage and recovery.
To complement these measurements selected instruments also have in-built PAR sensors, leaf temperature sensors, and operate in handheld mode, with connected autonomous dataloggers, or with wirelessly connected computers. Our stand-alone leaf absorptance meter provides the absorptance value essential for determining electron transport rate. Electron transport rate can be used as a proxy for productivity.
